A satellite dish only needs to move a few millimetres to drop your signal quality from perfect to unwatchable. After a week of hard summer wind through the Noordhoek valley we see it constantly: picture pixelation during rain, channels that vanish in the evening, or a permanent E48-32 error. If your system used to work and gradually got worse, a shifted dish is the most likely culprit.

Precision Realignment With Professional Meters

Realignment is a measurement job, not a nudging job. We re-peak the dish against the satellite using a professional signal meter, watching both signal strength and signal quality until the numbers are as good as your site allows. Then we re-torque the mounting bolts and, where the bracket itself has worked loose or corroded, upgrade it to a coastal-rated replacement so the fix lasts. If your dish sits in a brutal wind line, we can also assess moving it to a more sheltered face of the building.

LNB Replacement for Salt-Air Corrosion

The LNB is the small unit on the dish arm that receives the actual signal, and it is the component the coast kills first. Between Kommetjie's sea spray and Noordhoek's damp winters, an LNB that would last a decade inland can fail in a few years here. Symptoms include intermittent signal on some channels, signal that fails when it rains, or a dead feed on one output of a multi-room system. We carry single, dual, quad and smart LNBs on the van and can test and swap a failed unit in one visit.

Cables, Connectors and the Small Jobs That Matter

Cracked cable insulation, rusted F-connectors and water-logged joints degrade a signal slowly and then suddenly. We replace tired RG6 runs, refit connectors with weatherproof seals, and tidy sagging or flapping cable along walls and fascias. While we are on site we also handle the quick wins: clearing stubborn error codes, setting up a new Explora Ultra or HD decoder you have bought, and adding HDMI distribution so one decoder feeds a second room.
